Preliminary Layout

Masthead:  Health- ful . (Only our starting masthead, looking for improvement. Health and helpful in combination).   Main image:  Someone very fit (male), most likely wearing clothing that tightly hugs the boy or shirtless. Helps portray our main goal and  bring  readers in.    Selling line:   The pain  won't  compare to the joys of being happy and healthy! (in the works)   Typography/font:   Elephant font.  It's  very simplistic and basic, however, it pops. Peer Pitch & Concept Refinement Chart

According to Dungy, “As editors we are charged with shepherding new ways of seeing, thinking, and being into the world.”  This quote  is key in establishing how as editors we need to be innovative  and think deep on new ideas.  We pitched our idea for our portfolio this week and got some helpful feedback from the teacher and our peers.  Our original idea was to do a sports and health magazine that would cover the general specifics of sports along with the health side that influences ath letic performance. The idea itself was good but it was too  general,  and we were advised to make the magazine less broad. Since we started our pitch at the end of  class,  we didn’t really get peer  feedback,  but the peers we did hear from gave us insightful comments  on what to improve.  The main feedback was to have us focus on just one major thing, so we chose to focus on health.
